We played with the beets, eternal summers and fake surfers last night. Then I found out about this:

Philly and NYC this weekend!

We are going on tour with our best buds Secret Twins starting tomorrow! Two bands, one van. This is great for many reasons, but somehow I'm mostly excited to not be driving 8 hours in an over packed Chevy Malibu.

Catch us here:
  • APRIL 21 - SECRET TWINS, BAND NAME, MIKE BELL AND THE CADWALLADERS, BEN CADY / BOOKSPACE, PHILADELPHIA, PA
  • APRIL 22 - SECRET TWINS, diiilllaaaaaannn, EASTER VOMIT / SILENT BARN, NYC
  • APRIL 23 - SECRET TWINS / THE SUFFOLK, NYC

Here's a cool flyer for our show at the Silent Barn!

Hey so

After not updating this in so long I'm back, baby. Maybe I'll start filling this with youtube clips again.

We have a 7" coming out with Secret Twins. We finished our song for our half of this release. It's called "Last Week" and is mixed in MONO. You can listen to it here: http://deadbeatbeat.bandcamp.com/
The disk is coming out on Josh's surreptitiously solidifying label "Sneaky Eurekas."

Alright, I'm going to bed now. I really like this one:

The Empty Bottle was awesome, and so is this. Paul McCartney and his mullet make a guest appearance.

I wont even wish for snow

I love all the Phil Spector Christmas songs.

I also love "All I Want For Christmas Is You" because it's the best Christmas song, and one of the only ones I can listen to any time of the year.

Also, we did "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree" on this year's Suburban Sprawl holiday comp.

I also play saxophone on "Merry Christmas and Happy New Beers" by Kommie Kilpatrick.

Blog blog blog

We looked at this in my poetry class yesterday. The concept is called "internet mining." It's basically what happens on facebook and anywhere where there are ads on the internet, and one day when we go to the mall it's going to be like this for us. THE FUTURE IS SCARY.

Mediafire

You can download our 3 song EP that was recorded on my laptop here:

At least I think you can. You should be able to. Try it, let me know how it goes.

We're playing two out of state shows this week. Friday in Athens, Ohio with the Davenports and Queen Bee & the Honey Donts. Saturday in Nashville with Diarrhea Planet, Big Surr, and D. Watusi.

THEN we're playing with even more bands from Nashville in DETROIT Tuesday November 16th at the Lager House. Pujol, Turbo Fruits, and us. It's also a Terrible Twos record release, which is awesome.

AND I guess Matt got his space echo fixed and secretly mixed our REAL recordings in the night. As soon as those are real, they'll be up on the internet for all to hear.

This post has too much band information, not enough wacky.

Not tryin'a brag

BUT I bought The Velvet Underground & Nico on LP yesterday, and I still can't believe it's real. I freak out every time I see it. Pretty sure this is only the second time I've ever seen one in real life even. It's like a jackalope.

In band news, we're still waiting for Matt to get his space echo fixed so we can mix our recordings. It's a hard life.

Oh! Then our landlord came over because there was some weird house inspection from the city and "Heroin" was blaring from my room. Totally awkward. Had to move the needle over to "There she goes again." It's a hard life.

We're playing with Turbo Fruits and Pujol and the Terrible Twos at the lager house on the 16th of November. It's a FUN life.
